What’s up everybody? This is Keegan Lanier with Keegan Lanier media here with another episode of the Divi addicts podcast. And today like pretty amped up, got an email. huge shout out to you, Lauren, if you’re listening, I think that’s how you say it. I think that’s pretty close. Sorry, if my, my English American accent just kind of butchered your name. But you know, got a got a little bit of motivation. You know, we’ve got a bunch of people who reach out and a lot of people who listen to this podcast, you know, the numbers have continually climbed over the last two years that we’ve been doing this, it’s hard to believe it’s that time has gone by so quickly.
Keegan 1:39
But something I wanted to talk about today that’s really important to the success of this. And really, the success of anything you do in life is consistency. And this episode’s not geared specifically towards WordPress or Divi or business but more the mindset, the mindset that, you know, whatever you do in life, you have to show up every single day put in the work, it’s not just going to happen, success will not just happen. Some people very, very few people get just ridiculously lucky and put out one piece of content hit. And then most of the time, they don’t know how to they’re not set up so that they can magnify the impact of that exposure. You know, people that have 15 minutes of fame, you know, people who go viral and then disappear. It happens all the time. That’s not what I’m here for. That’s not that’s not my approach anyway.
Keegan 2:35
Yeah, I think you can tell I’ve been here two years week in and week out talking here on the Divi addicts podcast, hopefully bring in some some value. And, you know, pretty consistent over on YouTube trying to drop videos consistently, to bring more value of watch the numbers so steadily and kind of slowly but steadily grow. And so, you know, the moral of this is that you have to show up consistently, to get really strong, long term success. And that can be you know, in your daily life, waking up and going to the gym every day, you don’t have to work out hard. But if you show up every single day, you eat pretty good, you’re going to see health benefits. You know, if you’re picking the right foods and consistently eat them, your body’s going to adapt, it’s going to it’s going to change, it’s going to get healthier. And you know, if you run every day, you’re going to become tone and fit, and you’re going to have less body fat.
Keegan 3:33
Same thing in business. If you show up every day, and you consistently work on your process, you can tell you to continually listen to the people’s feedback from people that are clients of yours, you’re going to figure out the best way to position your products and how to make the offering stronger. You know, if you can take if you’re trying to do a podcast, or if you’re doing YouTube, if you continually show up for your audience, and you comment, and you react and interact, and you continue to drop new new videos or new podcasts or whatever, consistently, you’re going to ultimately win.
Keegan 4:06
And that could be just meeting the person who becomes a business partner that launches your ability to have a really location independent life or, you know, to remove a stressful job, or to spark an interest that might put you in the direction that leads you to a new career. There’s so many different things that can come from just showing up every day and putting in a little bit of work. And saying like this is where I want to go, pointing yourself in that direction and going 1000 miles an hour in that direction, consistently day in and day out, day in and day out, day in and day out, just without quitting.
Keegan 4:48
So that’s the key to this episode is be consistent. You know, I can tell I can tell you that. There’s a lot of episodes I put out here where no one reaches out. Not an email, not a tweet. Not a not a message on anything. And that’s the times where you have to continue to show up. especially early on, you know, it was radio silence, when you put out this first few episodes, you get 10 listens, maybe 15 listens maybe. And, you know, that grows into hundreds and hopefully 1000s of downloads every single episode. But that doesn’t come overnight, it comes from, again, continually showing up and continually putting in the work.
Keegan 5:30
So whenever you do get a message that’s so heartfelt, and it’s from someone who is who is taking a little bit from what you’re doing and shaping a different direction in life. That’s huge. And that’s that’s the whole reason I wanted to do this in the beginning, is because I thought there might be number one, some obstacles, and I could help somebody out there, avoid that I’ve hit along my journey of trying to become a full time, web site development, freelancer, person, whatever, to grow into an agency to do tons of different things. But my whole goal in doing the content creation here was to give value and to hopefully help you know to give value through helping other people avoid the mistakes that I made. Because those those mistakes can be costly. And they can definitely add up and become very expensive. Not just monetarily, but waste of time. And time is money.
Keegan 6:29
So you know, when I get those kind of messages from any of you, it means the world to me, it really means a whole lot it it kind of validates the fact that I spend time creating these podcast episodes because I know that if you’re listening to this right now, there’s there’s a reason for that. And I hope that I can continue to bring value to you every week, I continue to give you a reason to come back and listen to this podcast. And if nothing else today, I hope that this is motivation to say like, dude, if you’re thinking about doing that podcast, find something you love. I don’t care if it’s websites, I don’t care if it’s fortnight, I don’t care if it’s tech reviews, I don’t care if it’s music.
Keegan 7:11
Whatever it is that you just love to your core like I’m a professional wrestling fan have been since I was a little kid really back as far as I can remember in the 80s I’m a professional wrestling nerd. I know, I know a lot about the history of pro wrestling from all the different Federation’s that’s one thing I love, and I’ve wanted to do a podcast on it for a long time. But it can’t be a one man show, I need to have somebody else to do it with me. So that’s been a struggle. And that’s been a barrier for me. But if it’s not a barrier for you, and you don’t have a bunch of other things going on, start that podcast, start that YouTube channel, you know, get you a decent microphone, a little cheap rogue go, you can spend less than $100 on it, connect it to your phone, get a tripod, and for less than 100 bucks easy like definitely less than $100, you can get pretty good audio. Depending on the phone that you have really great video, especially if you have like an iPhone 11 or like a note 20 no 20 they’re not out yet. A note 10 Plus, like I’ve got or like the Galaxy S 20.
Keegan 8:18
Those are amazing phones for video. Really high quality stuff, pixel three pixel for pixel five that’s coming out. Any of those will be great. And you can start whatever you want. But the key and wrap this whole thing up and get it right back to the topic at hand is consistency. If you do it, most people don’t start and continue. Most people don’t get more than 10 episodes in because it’s difficult. Think about your process, do your research on whatever you’re starting, whether it’s websites, figure out who you’re going to host with, find out the long term plan, find out how you’re going to maintain your sites and update them.
Keegan 8:54
Find the platform to develop in that you can you can scale, if you’re going to do podcasts, make sure you know how you’re going to record your audio what your setup looks like, if you’re traveling a lot, make sure you have a microphone that you can take with you and a whole rig that’s very mobile, you know, make sure that you’re going to use your phone, think about all those things and figure out your process and then just show up every single every week or every day or every month, whatever the whatever the timeframe is that you put out. Just be there and do your thing. And that will translate into more structure and more great results in your life.
Keegan 9:32
So yeah, I mean, we’ve talked a lot about consistency and the ways that those things can impact your life. But at the end of the day, I just hope that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing something that you love, because doing something consistently that you don’t like, man that’s that’s not a life I want to live and I hope that you’re you’re able to make a move and get into something that you truly love. So thank you again as always for being here for listening to the Divi addicts podcasts feeling a little bit motivational. The day of Definitely motivated myself.
