In this weeks episode we discuss a brand new color picker that will live inside of the visual builder. We discussed how this will reduce development time as well as help craft a stronger color palette.

What’s up Divi addicts? Welcome to episode number 11 of the podcast. Again, we’re super excited to be here as always another week another podcast number 11. Here we go.

So with this week’s release at Divi, we get a brand new color picker and Divi, in my opinion always done a very good job of this color picker and being able to go into the Divi Theme Options, preset those saved, you know, top 10, or whatever number it is, I believe it’s 10 that they give you. I always thought that was great. I mean, it’s such a small, simple touchwood, it gives you the ability to set your color palette, and go to work. But what they’ve done is they’ve upgraded it. So if you go off the reservation, and you use different colors, there’s an additional tab on that color picker, that’ll show you recent to anything that you’ve recently used. But then they take it another step further.

And in my opinion, this is like this is the the great piece of the new color picker is that they take the color that you’ve picked, and they have a color algorithm that’s running in the background, where they’ll suggest a color that similar to the colors that you’ve used, that all match and are cohesive. And that create a beautiful looking design, if you use those colors together. You know a lot of services exist. You know, there’s different gradient websites that put gradients together with colors that match. There’s a lot of web palette generators out there. But this is one less place for you to go. One less thing for you to do because it’s in the system already. You don’t have to go to a website, find the colors, get the hex code, copy them into Divi save that part in the Divi themes and then go to work, those complimentary colors are going to live within the theme, and within the visual builder automatically.

And again, you know, on this podcast, we talk a lot about the flow, we talk a lot about shrinking the time between starting a project and going live with a project. And this is another one of those that that helps you could jump into a project, you know with a with an idea of maybe you know, one or two colors, maybe three colors at most. And then you will be able to get a complimentary set of colors that work with those. And that just continue to bring the design tighter and stronger, and up the quality of your website. So we’re amped about this. I’m interested to hear you know, for those of you out there in Divi land who are either freelancers are, who are just using Divi for your own personal site, you know, if you’ve played with this feature that just got released, what are your thoughts? Let us know, we’re super interested in getting your feedback and really want to know how you’re using this. And if it’s working the way that we’re describing here.
Keegan 2:55
So I’m sure you all have noticed over the last four or five episodes, I feel like we found our format, you know, we’re doing a very quick intro, I don’t want to be around the bush, let’s jump into the content, let’s get you to what it is that you’re here for. So I hope that you all enjoy that. Let us know give us the feedback on what you think about the format. And if it’s, if it’s good, if you like it, we’re always willing to adapt. And I think that this from from a creation standpoint is really hitting a good, pretty good stride. You know, you get the quick transition and boom, right into the meat potatoes of the podcast.
Keegan 3:30
And we go right up to three minutes. So all in all, the podcast is normally about five quick minutes. So it’s a it’s a pretty fast first round knockout, if all goes to plan. So I appreciate each and every one of you for coming back. It looks like we got a pretty steady hold as far as the number of people. So you know, I don’t like to do a lot of advertisements or shameless plugs. But if you get value from this, and there’s anybody out there you think that may be interested in catching up on quick snippets of what’s new in Divi, we would appreciate it, hit them up in the DM and just let them know that we exist.
