What’s up Divi addicts? Welcome to another episode of the podcast. And this week, as we mentioned in the intro, we’re going to be giving you a few resources that are going to help you build the foundation for your Divi website development business. This is one of those things that I wish I would have known whenever I first got started, you were piecemealing YouTube videos together, some of them were new, some of them are out of date, Divi moves so fast that sometimes the content isn’t always relevant to what you’re trying to accomplish at the moment. So there can be a lot of time that you can put into these things. And maybe the return isn’t exactly what you were hoping for.
Keegan 1:08
And also, when you go on on YouTube, you know, you’re piecemeal, in different different teaching styles, people who are using different versions of WordPress, and Divi and it just can be very, for lack of a better term, it can be very piecemeal, you know, you can take a lot of different things from a lot of different people. What’s really nice about about courses is that you find somebody that you really enjoy learning from you stick to them, you you would go towards their or you get gravitated, gravitate, I don’t know what the right way to say that you gravitate towards their learning style, their teaching style, and you got to find something that matches up with you, right?
Keegan 1:46
But when you do that, you can have somebody who can literally mentor you from afar, they don’t have to be someone that you know, they don’t have to be somebody that you even know, personally, you may just know them digitally, you hear their voice in a podcast, you see their face on a YouTube channel, or whatever. And you find out they have a course you know that you like their style. And you decide, hey, I may want to do this, like I may want to have my own side hustle or pivot completely into this business. We’ve talked about so many times on the podcast, there’s tons of episodes back in the library in the archives of us talking about different courses and different things. But in this episode, I’m going to give you three, three things you can do to really help build that foundation. And they’re really tied into three different courses.
Keegan 2:30
The first one is is our actually our Divi foundation course, you can go over to Academy. Keegan Lanier Media.com, which we’ll link in the show notes. And what we’ve done in this course, is really give you we’ve eliminated some of the questions, right. So we’ve built a stack of things that we love that just work extremely well for our business. That is where we buy domains, how we connect them to hosting where we host our websites, the products that we use some of the plugins that we use the theme we use all those different pieces that are so critical to the foundation of a good Divi website, you can go and you can get you know, $3 a month Hostgator account and try and put Divi on it and it’s not going to, it’s not going to perform the way you want it. And there’s a reason for that, you need the resources of a good host to run something as robust as Divi. It’s just it just is what it is, it’s the truth, you need to spend a little bit of money on that. But also understand the flip side of that is that when you’re first starting out, you may not have a lot of money.
Keegan 3:32
And in that case, maybe you can get a small business loan, if you really trust yourself, you know, you’re going to go in, take out a small business loan, and then go and invest in your education and the platform that you use. Because I guarantee you if you start out with a $3 a month, doing some things on those websites, you are going to transition later, and you are going to make a lot of mistakes on the cheaper hosting. And then you’re not going to handle things as great as you could had you spent a couple extra bucks a month, charged your customer for the difference. You know, make sure that you are covering your expenses with the hosting and what you charge your customer or your client. And you’ll be in a much better place down the road. Trust me I’ve dealt with the headaches, I’ve been down that road, I’ve made the mistakes, I can promise you for a fact that you’ll be off better if you just get the good stuff from the beginning and make it work in the in the way that you actually charge in the billing.
Keegan 4:28
So the first thing again, is the Divi foundation course. You know, it’ll be number one down below, you can check it out, see the whole the whole agenda, everything that you’re going to get from it. Raven suit, like really thinking about opening up the entire Academy. So if you become a client of ours, whether it’s on a maintenance agreement, or if you purchase one of the courses, you’re going to get access to the whole Academy. I’m still working out the details on that. And if you subscribe to the podcast, you’ll definitely know whenever those changes get made. You stick around here and and you’ll find That out.
Keegan 5:01
The second one here is actually the first Divi course that I ever took and it was the Divi business expert course at WP gears com, are the guys that that run that course the instructors on that course are people that I look up to a lot in the in the Divi space and just in web design in general and maybe just business in general. That’s being David Blackman and Tim Strifler, David Blackman. Both of those guys obviously are partners in WP gears and they’re the instructors of this course. But David Blackman also runs he runs Divi space and Aspen Grove studios with his partner, Corey Jenkins, and then Tim Strifler has Divi life. And both of them make products for Divi. And they’ve been in the game for a long time. They’re great content creators are great business people. And they’re just really good guys. Their course the the Divi business expert course is meant to take you from, you know, zero to six figures, essentially in sales in a year.
Keegan 6:03
Those guys do a great job, the course was fantastic. They have the weekly coaching calls, whenever the course is in session, they run them on on different sessions. And it’s, I think, a six week course. And in that six week course, or in that six week period, when they run their their courses, they do Zoom interviews where they go and do really deep dives into the topic of the week. And then they do even these role playing moments that are that are actually in the course. It’s just really, really cool. It’s really well done. Those guys are phenomenal. And they’re their courses really, really good. Highly, highly recommended.
Keegan 6:42
So that that wraps up number two. Again, number one Divi Foundation course that we have Divi business expert course is number two by WP gears, and then the final course and this guy is one of the one of the really genuine people I’ve met in the digital space just in general, super, super kind guy. He and I connected I actually was on his podcast. I’ll link that up in the show notes as well just below this number three, which links to his course. And it’s Josh Hall’s web design course. Josh is a is a great dude. He and I are maybe kindred spirits. You know, we’re just random people who’ve ended up in the development or the website development space. We were drummers in a different life. He actually toured with a band which I always wanted to do but never did in high school that did do. drumline did a bunch of competitions in drumline and music is just ingrained into my soul. There’s a wake up home in music and I go to bed humming music and I’m singing music in my head all day. Thankfully not out loud, you don’t want to hear that.
Keegan 7:44
But Josh is another one of those guys who’s really grown up in the Divi space has taken it by charge of becoming what I consider to be one of the premier authorities in the Divi WordPress development space. He’s doing incredible things growing his business, growing his tutorials and his course business as well. And he’s a practitioner, but he’s also a teacher. And I really gravitate towards Josh, because of that. He’s one of those people, I look at his path and I and I find myself hoping to follow in the footsteps of what he’s done, because he’s done such a great job. And he’s done it so well. But Josh Hall’s web design course, could not say enough great things about it, you can go over to a site which I’ll link below, there’s testimonials that you can, you can read, you can watch the video testimonials, and get first hand experience on people who’ve taken the course and who’ve been able to change them their life, you know, from going from a job that they’re not super happy about, and ultimately taking it to the next level.
Keegan 8:48
So I’ve laid these three, laid them out very specifically because Divi Foundation course is one of those that is going to give you the bare Foundation, it’s going to it’s going to hook you up with great platforms to do your work on. And it’s going to give you all of the basics of what you need, you know, the great hosting, which is the house, I mean, that’s the foundation access to Divi and where to do your how to do your domains, how to connect them in the flywheels hosting. And then you’ve got a Divi business expert course, which teaches you the systems on how to run the business. And then you’ve also got Josh’s web design course, which gives you an eye for web design. It teaches you how to design things that work that that convert and that do the business justice not just to create something pretty, but to create something that’s functional, and that’s ultimately very effective.
Keegan 9:39
So all three of these are going to be linked up below. Definitely check those out. I think that they’re going to bring you some tremendous value. And if you are gutsy enough to take the leap that you’d go through the three of these courses, you’re going to come out on the other side and absolute powerhouse and you’re going to be making if not as As you’re making currently in your job, you’re going to be making more so and here’s the beauty, you’re going to be doing it on your own time, because you’re going to have a system, you’re going to have great support from the partners that you have that we’re going to outline in the foundation course, you’re going to know exactly what to use, you’re going to have processes to run a smooth business. And it’s just going to change the game.
Keegan 10:22
So I hope, excuse me, I hope that that these things are something that you were really excited about. If you do go down the path of taking one or all of these courses, I would love for you to reach out when you’re done. Say, Hey, Keegan, I took this course, this course this course or all three. And this is what I was doing before. This is what I’m doing. Now I’m doing, you know, my These are my sales. It’s completely changed my whole perspective on life. And it’s given me a quality of life that I never even thought I can have. So I hope that this is something you can get a lot of value from, and I’m interested to hear your story. So thank you for being here for another episode of the podcast. I know that we’re going to be back here in exactly a week’s time with another episode that hopefully is going to keep kicking your butt right down the road to taking the leap, taking a chance and stop living for somebody else. Go take life. Grab it.
