What’s up everybody how it’s been a while we’re sitting halfway through February. And this is the first brand new episode of The Year. 2021 has, has kicked off. And I hope that January treated you all really well. But as you saw in the title, there’s some changes happening. At the end of the year, we talked about whether or not Divi addicts would stick around what that would look like if we would continue the podcast, you know, and overwhelmingly, you will all reached out and said, Please, please keep the podcast. I love doing this podcast. I’ve talked to you all about that many, many times. And this is not something that I’m willing to give up. But, you know, I will say that there’s been a lot of thought and introspection over the last really six to eight weeks, as far as what things would look like what they would be how I would run the side hustle, how we continue the podcast, and what that all would look like.

And so today, we’re here to announce a few things. And the very first one is that Keegan Lanier Media in the very near future will will go away what I’m doing it because I’m trying to really grow the business. And to do that it cannot only be about me. So I’m creating this brand, and have been working through it for a while now. And I’m getting to a point where I’m ready to start talking about it. And that brand is going to be Redefined Creative. And so Keegan Lanier Media is going to become redefined creative. And that will be the agency where I do website work for clients, and that side of the business. Now everything that we’ve done here with the Divi Addicts podcast is going to live under a personal brand. So you’re going to see more of my face, you’re going to hear me mention my name a little bit more. But those of you who have been around for a long time, we were over 120 episodes 125 episodes somewhere around that number. You all kind of know me, you you’re used to hearing my voice. You may not even know what I look like on those many podcasts or listen to where I know the voice but have no idea what the person actually looks like. And we’re going to get more in depth with WordPress more in depth with Divi more in depth with other things outside of Divi this year. And so I thought it was only fitting. And you’ve probably noticed it now that the graphics for the podcast have changed. No longer will it be Divi Addicts, I felt like that was a little bit too narrow. And honestly, the podcast has grown a lot in just not not just listeners and downloads, but also in the scope of what we talk about. This is going to be all about business is still going to talk we will absolutely still talk about Divi and not much is really going to change with the content. I just thought that the new name would fit more of what we’ve been doing here. And that’s going to be Addicted to WordPress. And and that’s it comes in a lot of forms like what exactly does it mean?
Keegan 3:04
I love the addicted tagline that the word. I think it’s it has a negative connotation in a lot of areas. But for me, I think it’s a I look at it as a positive. I’m addicted to the system. I’m addicted to the platform and not in a negative way but in a way that I love it and I want to use it and I want to know more about it and become a pro or remain a pro at at WordPress and what it means in the community and everything. So it’s a big part of my life. And when you have something that’s a big part of your life, you are a bit of an addict and that can be a positive or negative. So that’s where the name came from Addicted to WordPress. We’re going to talk about again Divi we’re going to talk about Oxygen Builder, we’re going to talk about element or we’re going to talk about WordPress in general. But this is always going to continue to be a great outlet for all the news. So we’re going to continue to talk about Divi news. In fact, the next episode is about something that was just released for Divi this past week. So we’re gonna we’re gonna touch on the new Divi feature release that just came out. So it’s still going to be a lot of what you’ve come to expect. We’re not like flipping the formula on its head. We’re going to continue just shooting the breeze here we’re just going to be talking about WordPress, talking about duty and, and really talking about life and business and and what those things look like to grow a side hustle to hopefully grow this agency and, and really just continue to evolve down this road.

So I’m with that I’m also going to be streamlining all of the social media that we have here. So I’ll say this here, and if you’re still listening, I appreciate you being in here for four minutes and 50 seconds. Where you can find us is going to be on Instagram. And the reason for that is that I’m going to do Instagram stories for the podcast whenever we’re talking about it, what the new episodes are going to be also going to have the direct messages open. So that’s the perfect place for any of you to contact me. So if you have questions you want to suggest topics, you’re curious about something that you want us to talk about here on the podcast. And here’s, here’s something else that’s going to change in 2021, is that we’re also going to be taking applications for guests. So we’re going to try and get into the interview game. And, and create a little bit of a dynamic here on the podcast, there’ll be some solo episodes. And, you know, there’ll be some episodes where people will be on here, and we’ll just be talking about their business, their experience, their life, and what WordPress means to them. So if that’s something you’re interested in, go over to Instagram and send us a DM. And we can continue to work through that process.

So that’s really it on this episode, I want to I really just wanted to get in here, talk about the changes that are coming at least to the to the brand and to what you’ll see in your app. And before we like move down the road, I want to really get in the habit of asking for reviews. Reviews are the lifeblood of a podcast, it’s the only way that people will find it and the podcast can continue to grow in the community can grow. So please click the link down in the show notes. And it’ll take you over to Apple podcasts where you can leave a review for the podcast. We have a majority of far majority of the people who listen to this and listening to it on on Apple podcast. So please take a second a second and and leave a review for the podcast. Hopefully you love it. And it’s a good review. You know the five stars are always helpful. They will put our podcasts up there with some of the other greats in the WordPress space like WP the Podcast, Josh Hall’s Web Design Show and so many more. If you wouldn’t, I would appreciate it. And we will give some shout outs here on on the podcast for people who leave great reviews, you know, we’ll focus and highlight some of those in the community. So I’m really truly looking forward to the next phase of the Addicted to WordPress podcast. I hope that you are as well stay here. Stay tuned and next week we’re going to be back talking about this brand new change to Divi that’s that’s been recently released, how excited we are for and what a game changer it will be for workflows.
