It’s been very, very strange not doing Divi Addicts every week. But we’re super excited to be back here. You know, this is episode number 30, which is a big deal for us. That means for more than half a year we’ve been we’ve been rolling here in Divi addicts. And although we did take some time off in the month of November, saying that we would be back by the beginning of the year, we couldn’t hold out any longer. So we’ve regrouped. We’ve put things back together, we’ve been working on a website redesign. And there’s just a lot going on, you know, we tried to get through Black Friday. And we’re trying to get through the holidays with with a ton of projects and trying also at the same time to prepare for 2019. Well, in that process, as I mentioned, we’re doing a website redesign for Keegan Lanier Media. And I wanted to talk today about what that process looks like. Like what is involved in that because I know many, many people out there, and I see it all over Facebook groups, especially the Divi groups, there’s a lot of new people joining in, and they don’t know how to update a website, how to push it live, and how to really handle that process.

So I wanted to talk about a service that is flat out amazing. And it’s one we’ve used for a long time, and it’s called manage WP. So m a n a g e wp.com. It’s, it’s fantastic. I mean, you can use it for free. And you can do monthly backups for free. You can do uptime monitoring, which I believe cause there’s some reporting that you can do for free. And there’s some basic functionality you can do for free. And if you pay for the backups, the daily backups, which I believe is $1.80 a month per site, you can actually clone that backup to a different WordPress installation, which is amazing.

So that’s kind of what we do, we took our main site, and we created a subdomain of our main domain. So we’ve got, you know, Keegan Lanier Media.com, but then we have KLM dev. Keegan Lanier media.com, where we set up a blank WordPress installation, we took the backup from manage WP, and we pushed it after we connected the pieces, we pushed it over into that sub domain. And we’ve we’ve been working on these changes, you know, subtle changes where it’s we’re really trying to streamline the offering streamline the pricing, and really clean up the look and feel and just modernize it just a bit, it’s still going to look and kind of kind of feel the same, the flow will still be the same but it’s going to look like a cleaned up version of itself.

And we’re really excited about that part. I think it’s going to be awesome. But manage WP is a huge resources to how we’re able to get that done. It just makes this whole process super easy. You know, I know many of you really love audio and if you’re driving right now, like I spend a lot of time on the road podcasts and audiobooks are a lifesaver you love music and I like music runs through my veins. But even I can only listen to so much music when I’m on the road 10 to 12 hours a week. So I love doing these podcasts but if you like to read and you want to partake in some blog posts and you want to comment on those or whatever in the show notes, you will find the accompanying blog post here which I kind of lay all this information out about our upgrade about our update and how we manage the site and some links to manage WP. So I hope that you really enjoy this I hope that this is going to bring a little bit of value to you and your website if you’re looking to you know it doesn’t matter if you’re a business or if you have a personal blog. The one thing you don’t want to do is really make a lot of massive changes to a live site things can go really bad and it can get ugly really fast. So avoid that at all costs, use manage WP and it will save you a ton of headache.

And you know the one last thing I wanted to I wanted to talk about before we put the kill shot on episode number 30 is that if you really love Divi addicts, as much as we love making it, if we would love if you’re interested for you to support the show, if you want to do so all you have to do is head over to Divi addicts.com again there’s a link in the show notes and hit the purple support button. And you can support for 1, 5, 10 It doesn’t matter whatever it is that you want to do. I mean less than a $1 a month it’s really 99 cents. And that would mean the absolute world to us because it’ll allow us to go out and get better podcasts. gear, you know, maybe forego a project here and there so that we can focus on upping the quality of Divi addicts and really bringing you some great things. But we’d love to hear your feedback and we would love it if you’d support. And if none of that sounds appealing to you head over to Keegan Lanier media.com and just check out the blog. Otherwise catch us on the socials and we will love to talk to you. We hope you have an amazing day. And we will see you in the next episode coming at you starting next Tuesday. Have an awesome day. See you later.
