Everybody, welcome to episode number 33 of the Divi addicts podcast, and our second of 2019, we’re super, super amped to be here, we’re so excited to have you back, we’re excited to be in the swing of things. And it’s a brand new year we’ve turned the calendar. And in a lot of people’s minds, you know, that’s a click, it’s a it’s a point in time where you can reset. And, you know, I don’t necessarily believe in waiting for the calendar year to begin or a new month or Monday to get started with whatever it is that you want to accomplish for me. And my mindset, it’s always been, you got to start now.

So in November, or maybe a little before November, we took a little bit of a break from the show, we took about six weeks off five or six weeks or so. And we started planning for what 2019 was going to look like because we wanted to hit every single week, no missed episodes, no questions asked. So our goal, just so you know is that Divi addicts will be 52 episodes in 2019. And that’s the goal, we want to bring you value we want to deliver on some topics that I think are going to help really elevate your Divi website.

It’s so today what we’re going to be talking about is how we build a very clean looking blog grid using Divi. And you know, it’s a little difficult in audio to really walk you through how that process is going to look. But we’re going to talk philosophically here. And this is the way a lot of these are going to go. Because the podcast episodes are going to coincide with a YouTube video and a blog post over Keegan Lanier media.com, And so we really want to talk about, you know, our philosophies behind design here. You know, we want to keep a design aesthetic that’s clean and modern and easy to use. And that’s the way general web trends have been going for a number of years now. I think we could think as much as I’m not a fan of it, Windows eight,
Keegan 2:26
Windows eight kind of started the flat design trend. And then you know, it kept going and grew, it started getting its way into web and you know, iOS went flat, I think in iOS seven, they went more of away from the skew morph design and went more to a flat. And then you get material design. All those different things have led the web to be a cleaner, less obnoxious version. And it’s more about the simple colors and micro interactions. And that’s our goal for what we’re what we’re going to walk you through this week in our tutorial on YouTube. And so we really, you know, I apologize for the sniffing a bit a little under the weather having some problems with my sinuses, just due to the extreme cold and hot rollercoaster that we’re riding here in Louisiana.

But, you know, I really wanted to, I really want to get in here and let you all know, what we’re headed towards for 2019. And, you know, discuss this really cool simple blog read that we’re going to put together. And the reason that we like using blog grids as opposed to full width is because on desktop, you can just cram in a lot more, a lot more content in a smaller space. And cram in sounds like a, you know, it sounds terrible. It sounds like we’re trying to stuff a bunch of stuff on the screen. And that’s not the case, we want to make it spaced out properly. And we want to make sure that the content is very easy to read. And, and that the images pop and that the micro interactions look great, you know, whether it’s color overlays or border shifts, or drop shadows, or whatever the case may be. And we’re gonna walk you through those specifics in the video that’s attached to this.

So we cannot wait to hear your feedback and see if you can utilize this in your own website. And we you know, we we love using Divi and we love building inside of this platform because it makes creating these kind of clean blog grids. It makes it a breeze and some of the some of the really cool hover effects that you can accomplish with just a few clicks of the button. So we can’t wait to show you and we cannot wait to get your feedback. So jump into the blog post or the YouTube video as soon as a drop on Thursday. And let us know what your What do you think, let us know your feedback, because we’re super amped to hear what you have to say about this and how you can use those and if they’re bringing any value. So thanks again. We hope you guys have an amazing, amazing week, and we’ll see you next week in the next video.
