In today’s episode, we’re going to help you walk through the steps on how you can actually share your content and be found.
Keegan 0:23
So before we jump into today’s episode, we have a quick quick message from one of our sponsors. All right, ladies and gentlemen, this is it. This is the last episode of season three. Today’s episode, we’re going to tell you how to share your content. And this all ties in it’s one big harmonious cycle, right? If you go back to episode number two, we talk about how to pick the right CMS and WordPress is the foundation for everything we’ve been able to do.
Keegan 0:54
In Episode Number three, we talked about web hosting, and it truly is the groundwork for everything is to security. It’s where WordPress lives. It’s all of those things. And then Episode Four, we talked about picking the right website framework. And that’s what drove us to Divi, you’ve got your Divi subscription, or your Elegant Themes membership, that gives you access to Divi. And then we talked about protecting your site. And now we’re here to help you share your content and be found. So there’s a few things that you must do. As soon as your website’s done, create your Google account and go to the Google Search Console, Web Developer Console, whatever they’re calling it these days, and submit your sitemap, your website sitemap dot XML. And what that does is allow Google to actually scrape your entire website, find out the pages, find out everything about your website, and make sure that if people search something related to the content, you’re putting out that it gets found. This is a key key step.
Keegan 1:58
But because you’ve also signed up for the Elegant Themes membership, you’ve got Divi, and you’ve got access to a few other plugins that are really going to help you on this on this journey. Bloom allows you to integrate with email marketing systems, and you can get a free MailChimp account. And you can tie Bloom into MailChimp and start collecting emails, don’t wait, you want to collect those emails. That way you can keep in touch with your audience that allows you to share content with the people who are closest to your content, the ones who actually your stuff resonates with, you need to build that relationship and you need to have direct line of communication to them.
Keegan 2:37
Then there’s also monarch, activate monarch, set the styles that you want inside of WordPress, and make sure that monarch is on your posts, make sure it’s on your blog post so that when you write content, or you create a video and embed it into a post, that you have an easy, simple solution for people who are visiting your site to be able to share it to their Facebook, to their Twitter, to their Pinterest board, email, or to buffer it, any of those things, you want to give them access to be able to do that very, very easy with two clicks max.
Keegan 3:14
And that’s that’s it, that’s the magic, share your content. Otherwise, you can share specific pages and go on the Twitter or go on the Facebook and actually post the links. Now when I would recommend if you’re on Facebook, use the notes on your page and actually go through the process of creating content. And it’ll it natively on those platforms because those platforms have gotten extremely smart. And their algorithms make you or force it so that your engagement is higher if your content is native to the platform and keeping people on the platform as opposed to bringing them off the platform. They don’t like that. It’s not how they make their money.
Keegan 3:54
So share with you share your content from your website. And if it means taking somebody to Facebook, that’s cool, but make sure they share it with their friends. And that’s the key. Don’t feel bad about sharing your content. Don’t feel bad. If you think that you’ve over shared your content. The algorithms are not in your favor. I mean, they’re there, you have to break through some pretty serious things to be able to get your content in front of people and to do it regularly. So share your content, but share content and create content that it’s good. And that is helpful, not content that is geared towards helping you but geared towards solving a problem and your content will become shareable and then you give people a way to actually easily share that content. And that’s it.
Keegan 4:43
I know it’s an easy formula. It’s very difficult to execute though. The steps are easy, the execution is tough. And with that, that brings us to the close of season three. I don’t know what you thought about this episode in this season and this format I’ve really enjoyed doing it this way. I think it’s awesome that you get to go, step one through six in this process back to back to back to back, they all dropped on the same day, July 2 6am, or 7am. Now that rather, all that content dropped, and you were able to listen to episode in whatever pace you want.
