What’s up everybody and welcome to episode number six of Divi addicts. Jesus, we made it to six episodes crazy. Today we’re going to talk about a brand new topic, a brand new workflow. And I’m pretty big update to Divi, we’re super excited about it. We hope you are too. So let’s jump right into today’s episode.

I’m not yet really sure how I feel about that last transition. Maybe you guys let me know which ones do you like? Let’s jump into today’s topic. So this past week, Elegant Themes pushed out another pretty big update to Divi, that seems to be the theme. This is why I love Elegant Themes. And why I love the Divi frameworks so much is because we know every week we’re coming, you know, or they’re coming out with some great content, some great upgrades, you know, whether big or small, it’s something that is going to benefit either your workflow, the overall design, or just the way that you operate in general, you know, with options that you can give to your, to your clients, or to your website.
Keegan 1:07
So this week is no exception. Elegant Themes dropped an update, where it seems very small, you’re working through the visual builder, you’ve hit the settings, gear on either a section, a module, or a row. And you look up in the top right corner of the Settings window, and there’s a button that says filter. And I saw it and I kept working through my day working through this project, you know, I made it to the end, and didn’t think too much about the button, I was thinking maybe I can filter out certain options, you know, type in text or whatever. And it would just show those options. What I did not know it had at the time is when you click on filter brings down this drop down menu and you can pick modified items.
Keegan 1:55
And that seems I know right off top of my head, it seems pretty small. But when you when you’re looking through these modules or through the settings, pains for sections, rows or modules, you have a lot of options. Elegant Themes has given us a ton of options, they’ve done a great job by grouping them together where you can expand and hide and it makes it a little bit quicker. But this new filter option is awesome. When you hit filter and go to modified items, it eliminates everything that is stock, anything that hasn’t been changed, and just shows you what’s what you’ve modified in the visual builder, whether it’s a background, text, size, spacing, any of those things, that’s all you’re gonna see a picture this you’re working, you know on, you’re working on a website, and you’re in the visual builder, and you need to copy things from one page to the next you create your duplicate pages, you save your layout to the to the Divi library, and you copy it across these pages, and you set them as global items and you want to make a change across your website.
Keegan 2:56
Before you had the global option. You had to make it on every single page and you didn’t have the Divi library because that wasn’t a thing either. Imagine you’re creating each individual page, each individual design, you have to remember the settings and you’re recreating those designs. And then on top of that, you have to scroll through all these options to make sure that you’re changing the right ones, all those days are gone. So this update gives you the ability to continue leveraging the power that Divi already has the library and global items, and shrink the noise to where you can focus on just the things that you’ve changed. Just the things that you’ve customized to make your site look the way you want it and filter out all the other stuffs you don’t have to dig through it. It’s, in my opinion, it’s a small thing. Like it’s a very small update.
Keegan 3:46
But from a workflow standpoint, it is massive. I mean, especially as as the settings grow inside of Divi, and as the options get bigger and bigger, being able to focus in on what it is that you’re that you’ve made changes to, or what it is that you really want to dial into is major. I mean, it’s this is a tremendous lifesaver. This mixed with copy and paste of module styles or row styles are setting style or section styles. The workflow and the visual builder is just it’s getting so much better. So fast. So we’re super amped. We’re hope you excited. And yeah, go test it out.
