61: I Am The Forminator
In this episode, we showcase WPmudev’s incredible plugin Forminator Pro. This plugin seemingly came out of nowhere and has us rethinking our form strategy for all client sites.
It has the integrations and power of premium plugins like Gravity Forms and Ninja forms with a price point that’s much more forgiving (hint: it’s free!). Add it to your WordPress site and give it a test run!
In today’s episode, we’re talking about a form plugin for WordPress that is absolutely changing the game.
All right, all right, everybody. Welcome back. This is episode number four of Divi addicts season four, and in this episode, we’re talking about Formulator pro and there’s everything within my power. I’m holding in I’m trying not to do a really really terrible Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation, I am deforming it couldn’t help it. Anyway, moving on.
We wanted to talk about this, this plugin that came out of nowhere. I mean, truthfully, it was Gravity Forms. It was ninja forms. It was a lot of these premium form plugins for WordPress that have really, they’ve ruled things for the last number of years really quite a long time and WPMU DEV has, has gone through a lot of changes, gotten rid of a lot of themes, they’ve really narrowed the focus the focus of who they are, and what they’re trying to accomplish. and Formulator Pro, I think was really something they wanted to put out as a hook to get people into their $49 a month service. And it’s really awesome. I mean, it’s a great plugin, it’s got a drag and build dropper, drag and drop builder. The tongue tied here, the builders awesome, it’s super easy. You have control of the colors of everything. There’s multiple styles, from flat to material to bold, you’ve got built in stripe and PayPal payments. Here the super simple drag and drop builder. That’s what I meant to say earlier.
You can collect and track user information. You can integrate with Google’s capture, there’s, you can do short, or complex forms. You can build custom polls, quizzes and forms. It’s just It’s awesome. There’s calculations payments, it’s got conditional logic. You can use names, email, phone address, regular input text areas, you can pick a number radio buttons, calculations, you can do drop lists, date pickers, time pickers upload files checkbox, link to a website, you can do stripe which we mentioned GDPR approval, you can put currency, you can do multiple pages, you can add in custom HTML, you can put in hidden fields, they even give you the opportunity to develop your own API connection into there. So it’s, I mean, this stuff is really unlimited. So you can use forms with calculations to pick up leads, you can make money with it because it integrates directly with Stripe.
So there’s everything that you could want Campaign Monitor, Active Campaign, Google Sheets, Trello, MailChimp, Zapier AWeber, like there’s all of those already built in. And just the Zapier connection alone gives you access to 1000s of apps, you can build polls, you can do BuzzFeed style quizzes where people can, you know, pick your favorite dessert, you can hit the checkbox and one, it even has its own Gutenberg block. So we don’t personally build in Gutenberg. But if you do use Gutenberg, it has a block that’s already there. In the backboard, the back dashboard is is just easy to read. It’s phenomenal.
The forms, obviously are responsive, they work on mobile, they work everywhere. And we’ve given you so much in a very short time about what this is. But if you’ve used form builders before, like before, we use form inator. And we started really transitioning our sites to form inator we use Gravity Forms, Gravity Forms is awesome, but the builder is nowhere near as intuitive and easy to use as Formulator pro so here’s the beauty. You can try it you can check it out for free. And it’s an unlimited like completely full version of this amazing builder. So if you have a WordPress site, install it, give it a shot, take it for its take it through the paces and I think you’re going to really, you’re going to be very satisfied and it’s going to make you really contemplate whether or not it’s worth spending money if you’ve purchased a premium form plugin.
So that’s that’s what we got to say that’s it. That’s that’s all we can talk about for formulated Pro. It’s a phenomenal pro plugin. It is unbelievable that it’s free. WPMU DEV is a very reputable company, who builds Awesome, awesome plugins and they’ve given you a progrip Pro grade premium plugin for absolutely nothing. So give it a shot. And let us know what you think about the plugin. Connect with us on any of the socials. You can go to Twitter, you can find us there, Instagram, Facebook, you name it, you can find us. And we really want to know exactly what you think of formulator pro till the next episode, where we’ll be talking about GDPR cookie consent plugin, and really why it’s so important to have it on your site. Until then, though, we will see when the next episode.
All right, so we asked you in Episode Three, we’re going to ask you again here in Episode Four, tell us your thoughts on sponsored ads in a podcast. Personally, I like to get right to the content, do one shot, drop it, no sponsorships. But the truth. And the reality of doing these types of things is that they take time, and they take money. Because there’s equipment involved. There’s also the loss of time to not be working with the clients who who do pay us. And that’s just a side, a side gig of that’s just the reality of being a freelancer and doing this kind of work. But we’re not going to not do the podcast because we’re absolutely committed to it. Number one, I love it. It’s fun. And number two, I really want to be a great coach and help open some doors and maybe exposure for certain things to anyone of you who may not know about some of these plugins we’re talking about, for example, in this episode, or this season, or not know how to start your own website or where to go and what the resources are.
So again, we want to know your feedback on the sponsorship ads. And in the same vein as Episode Three, we’re going to end this episode with an ad just because we got to pay the bills, so have an awesome day. Enjoy Episode Five, which is coming up next while we’re talking about GDPR cookie consent. Wait until the next episode. Have an awesome one.
