68: Building an email list with Bloom
In this episode, we walk you through the features of the Bloom Email List Building Plugin from Elegant themes.
In today’s episode, we’ll walk you through ways to maximize your Elegant Themes membership and use bloom to grow your email list.
Alright, so in the intro, we talked about how we were going to help you maximize your Elegant Themes membership. And that’s why we’re talking about bloom the Elegant Themes email opt in and Legion plugin they built for WordPress x by maximizing your your membership. To me, that means using everything that’s offered from Elegant Themes, and they’ve got a few things that we’ve already talked about, you know, we’ve talked about Monarch, we’ve kind of walked you through the Divi Builder, we’ve definitely talked at length about why we love Divi so much today is really, for as far as an elegant, Elegant Themes offering today’s the last thing that we really have to talk about them until they drop version 4.0. And that’s bloom their email, opt in plugin. So you know, the key to this thing is to help you grow your following.
E-mail marketing is big, it’s not going away, it’s not going to go away, at least anytime soon, it’s still the way people do business. And it’s still the way they interact with the followers that they have when they’re not on social media. So the whole idea here is to gain more email subscribers. And Bloom does a really good job converting visitors into loyal followers. So you can get more email subscribers, so you can really focus in on highly targeted content to the right people at the right time. It’s got a great design, and you can display it in a few different ways. So bloom gives you the option to automatically pop up on.
Yeah, anytime that it actually pops up, you can get an opt in pop up, they’ve got the opt in for fly ends. So basically, it just slides in from the bottom, you can do an inline opt in forms where it’s in the middle of content, you do below content, you can actually put this in the widgets, or you can even use it to require an email address opt in to unlock content behind it. So if you want to give away free resources, or like an E-book, or any of that stuff, Bloom has the option, or at least the ability to require an opt in to get to that content. So that’s really cool.
And it can be triggered in a few different ways. So it can be a time delay, where if they’re on a page for let’s say, 10 seconds, it’ll pop up. Um, you can set whichever amount of time you want that to be when they you can do it when they scroll to the bottom of a post, you can do it when they screw up, they have scrolled a certain percentage down the page, you can set it to or after comments. So if you have a blog post, and they comment, you can give them a special offer or something along those lines. You can do after purchasing or even after inactivity. So if your users just been active inactive on your page for too long, you can trigger something to catch their attention. It’s pretty interesting. They do integrate with 19 email marketing services. So you know all the popular ones, MailChimp, HubSpot ConvertKit, Active Campaign Constant Contact AWeber get response just to name a few. But then it’s also got tons and tons of customizations.
So just to start with, there’s over 100 pre made templates that you can start with and customize. There’s different borders, there’s image orientations, you got a lot of color options, and it’s fully responsive. The really, really cool thing is that you can adjust this thing and put it in specific places. So it’s very highly targeted display settings. So you can control where on the website it’s going to appear when it’ll appear, you can choose the display how you want it to pop up what the style is, and all that on individual pages, or post types. So it’s it’s really cool. You can target specific posts and categories, you can refine it on a per post or a per level page, meaning that you can make it not display on a certain page or not display on a certain post which is really, really nice. And then on top of that they give you this this really cool dashboard. So the dashboard looks great. It’s styled well it’s very good design, it’s easy to read, it’s very easy to manage your pop ups and you can also see the conversion rate on each one individually.
You can even increase the convergence because just like in the Divi Builder, this bloom plugin has a be testing and that you know there’s a ton of statistics the there’s a ton of information on the dashboard, and you can even import and export bloom data. So if you have things set up and you need to you need to pull the data out to be able to study the data or put it in a different format and play with it. You have it there. You have the ability to export it.
And then you know Divi, they always have a great support, they double down on their their 24/7 support. Now, it’s not live chat, but it is great support. So if you have any questions, and you get down the road with this, and you can always reach out to their support to get the answers you need. So I’m a huge fan of Bloom. I love what they’re doing with this plugin. I don’t use it currently, because I have used just general forms I’ve used form inator. And Gravity Forms to do that. I’m not a huge fan of pop ups. I can deal with like a banner across the top or something like that, but I’m not the biggest fan of pop ups.
So I’ve been, you know, reading through this and kind of thinking through this episode, I’ve really thought about putting some of these email opt ins maybe in the sidebar, just in the blog, or, you know, at the end of the blog content, or maybe even after a comment, you know, just to make sure that I’m getting the most out of it, and that if people are looking to connect with us, they have a way to do it. And it’s right there inside the content that they’re already reading. So definitely thinking about that definitely thinking of ways that I can implement this into our into the Keegan Lanier Media.com website.
So I’m curious Feel free to connect with us on Twitter at Keegan media and let us know some ways that you would use bloom.
