What’s up Divi addicts, welcome to the second episode of season seven of the Divi addicts podcast. And in today’s episode, we’re talking about growing your authority and kind of what that looks like. First off, I’m going to say, I don’t feel like I’m an authority on much, but I do have a lot of experience and I do have some insight that I want to share about how you can grow an audience that really buys into you an audience who trusts you. And that’s there’s there’s one big key to this thing and it’s it’s really just being consistent and showing up.
Keegan 0:53
I’ve been in the in the Divi game or in the WordPress game for about the last five years. And there’s a lot of people out there and you may be checking this out for the first time and not know who I am. What Keegan Lanier media does, what we offer, the YouTube channel, the blog, the layouts, all of the things that we do the upcoming courses, like you may have no idea. But the other part of this thing other than being very consistent with with quality content, hopefully it’s quality content. And I guess that’s up to you. But this Divi addicts podcast has been going strong for two years. And the consistent show up the consistency is what really will ultimately make you an authority and something It isn’t easy. There’s a lot of times whenever you question if you’re doing it for any reason, like why keep going, trust me, those thoughts have gone through my mind, it’s it’s not a far fetched idea.
Keegan 1:49
So just being consistent showing up is something that will lend to more authority, because people will know they can count on you, people will continue to show up listening to your episodes, and people will share that with people that they know and trust. And then you’ll become that person that they’re they know and trust and that their whole network knows address. So it’s very important, it’s very, it’s one of the most powerful things you can do when trying to build some sort of authority. The other part is, is a common sense one, right? It’s just actually knowing what you’re talking about when it comes to the topic that you want to be an authority on.
Keegan 2:20
So you have to be a practitioner, you have to stay deep in the weeds. You know, I’m a practice Divi practice with WordPress, I keep an environment area for testing that I can play around with all the new episodes, the new episodes, the new features of Divi, excuse me, it keeps me excited, it keeps me in or interjected or energized. Yeah, that’s the word I’m looking for keeps me energized about the product, right? Because Divi is always changing. And it’s something that you got to stay on top of because of how frequently they update. So you know, really to recap this this pretty short episode because I can go on about it. But I mean, those are the points, right, you have to show up, you have to be consistent. And you really have to know what you’re talking about on the topic you want to build your authority on. And if you do those things consistently, over time, people will start to see you as an authority.
Keegan 3:11
Now one bonus, one thing I will throw in here is that you have to be very giving you cannot be a taker in any community. But especially as an authority, you have to give value, you have to provide other people, some sort of nugget of wisdom or some tool that will allow them to level up their game. And then you build trust with those people. And automatically you become the authority in their eyes. And as you do that continually, you grow an audience of a bigger audience where people look up to you, and that makes you or put you in a place of authority on a certain topic. So never ever sit back, never get comfortable, always, always be pushing the envelope to become better, and to be a stronger version of you. So that pretty much sums up how you can become an authority. It’s really just consistent work.

So this week’s resource is lifter LMS and specifically their their Facebook channel. It’s their Facebook page, Chris Badgett has done an awesome, awesome, awesome job of delivering content and showing people how to get the most from lifter LMS. And the reason that’s on the top of my mind is because we’re going to be launching the WordPress foundation course coming up very, very soon. In fact, if you go to Academy.Keegan Lanier.com you can sign up to get 50% off if you sign up before the before we launch, so the launch will be coming very soon. So jump over there, sign up and get notified for when we launch and you’ll get a code when we do go live for 50% off of that course.
Keegan 4:52
So definitely go and drop your email. It’s it’s easy, no commitment, no nothing. We don’t blow you up with spam and you can have an opportunity to give 50% off of that course so Chris has the project or the product that we actually built our course on so we use lifter LMS inside of our academy and Chris his content is just very good. He gives tons and tons of value and he makes sure that he’s giving back to the community that’s given him so much so I wanted to feature Chris at lifter LMS as the resource of the week.
