What’s up everybody welcome to another episode of the Divi addicts podcast in this episode, as we talked about in the intro, we’re talking about professional email in your business and why you need it. So there’s a few options, you know, you can go the office 365, I believe a personal account is five bucks, there’s always G Suite, you can use Google’s account which everybody’s super familiar with Google, Google Drive, Gmail, sheets, all those all of the settings, the stuff that comes along with G Suite, including Hangouts, or Google meet whatever they’re calling it these days, the platform is incredible. It’s actually what we use, and they bumped up this year for the first time ever to $6 per user is still worth it.

And you know, what I really want to talk about, you know, those being the two big options. For professional email, the other option you do have is that you can definitely use your own website, you can host it through your hosting for most of them. And I don’t recommend that that path, I don’t recommend that path. Because if your site goes down, your email also goes down. And I trust Google, this is their business, G-mail is their, this is what they do. Same thing with Microsoft, you know, they’re a big company, they know how to handle this stuff. So they do those things, and they make sure that their emails are going to be working. So office 365 definitely works out well. Personally, I go the G-mail route. But those are your three options. And there’s, you know, when I work with clients out there, I see a lot of people who, who just have like, their business name@gmail.com.

And let me just tell you, like, if that’s you, if you’re listening to this episode, and you send out emails as you know, your business name@gmail.com. And please take a look at what you’re doing. And, and think about how you’re going to be perceived, you know, it seems very amateur. And that’s just the nicest way I can put it, you need the if you’re taking your business seriously, you really need to take every part of your business seriously, your branding, your emails, your web address, all those things need to be taken seriously, they need to be a part of what you do. So I would highly recommend getting your name at your business name calm, it’s your domain. And it’s easy to set up a Gmail, you can go our G Suite, rather, you can go to G Suite, sign up, put in your domain, and it’ll it’ll do most of the work for you. It’s very easy. You know, if you have some things that are set up on your domain, you can you may have to set up MX records to point to Gmail servers.
Keegan 2:39
And that’s not hard either there’s Google will walk you through it as they onboard you. And there’s even a way where you can transfer emails from your current setup. If you’re using it on your web server, you can transfer it over. And I can tell you it’s worth it, you get 100 gigs of storage inside of Google Drive, that alone in itself is worth six bucks a month. But then you get the professional email, he get access to all the other apps you get the video chat with, with Google neat.

It’s completely worth it. And it upgrades the way your business is seen. You know, when you send an email from Keegan at Keegan Lanier media.com, it’s so much better than getting something from Keegan Lanier media@gmail.com. It just it’s that little bit of detail that makes you seem and come off and be viewed as a professional. And that’s the key to this to this whole episode is professional email for your business. And you need it because you need to be seen as an authority, not somebody who’s just playing around and just kind of doing this for fun. So that’s really the extended this.
