In today’s episode, there’s going to be a little bit of accountability. I got a question for you, and we’re gonna get to the answer.
Keegan 0:23
What’s up everybody welcome to another episode of the Divi addicts podcast. Um, as always, we greatly appreciate you being here. And this week you know something’s something’s really big on my mind, I’ve done some YouTube videos really started stretching when it comes to tutorials and some of the value that we’re trying to bring along. We’re doing this video about the Divi Theme builder. And it was specifically about building a blog grid, a custom blog grid, and then building a template for blog posts inside of Divi that was easy to update, easy to manage and really didn’t take very long the video took 45 minutes to record, it will be trimmed down to probably something around 20 minutes.
Keegan 1:01
So you can watch this video, you can build a custom grid for your for your blog posts, and then you can build a template to display your content all within that amount of time. So that alone kind of talks about the power. So my question, the question I have here is why would anyone not be using the Divi Theme builder? And that question came to my mind because I’m reading through Facebook groups, and I’m hanging out with people on Twitter and LinkedIn groups around WordPress around Divi and so many are still stuck in two years agos version of Divi, you know, they’ve been eyeballing the theme builder, but haven’t taken the leap.

In today’s episode, we’re talking all about professional email for your business.
Keegan 0:22
What’s up everybody welcome to another episode of the Divi addicts podcast. In this episode, as we talked about in the intro, we’re talking about professional email in your business and why you need it. So there’s a few options, you know, you can go the office 365 route, I believe a personal account is five bucks, there’s always G Suite, you can use Google’s account which everybody’s super familiar with Google, Google Drive, Gmail, sheets, all those all those settings, the stuff that comes along with G Suite, including Hangouts, or Google meet whatever they’re calling it these days, the platform is incredible. It’s actually what we use, and they bumped up this year for the first time ever to $6 per user is still worth it. And you know, what I really want to talk about, you know, those being the two big options.
Keegan 1:04
For professional email, the other option you do have is that you can definitely use your own website, you can host it through your hosting for most of them. And I don’t recommend that that path, I don’t recommend that path. Because if your site goes down, your email also goes down. And I trust Google, this is their business, Gmail is their, this is what they do. Same thing with Microsoft, you know, they’re a big company, they know how to handle this stuff. So they do those things, and they make sure that their emails are going to be working. So Office 365 definitely works out well. Personally, I go the Gmail route. But those are your three options. And there’s, you know, when I work with clients out there, I see a lot of people who, who just have like, their business name@gmail.com. And let me just tell you, like, if that’s you, if you’re listening to this episode, and you send out emails as you know, your business name@gmail.com.
Keegan 1:56
And please take a look at what you’re doing. And, and think about how you’re going to be perceived, you know, it seems very amateur. And that’s just the nicest way I can put it, you need the if you’re taking your business seriously, you really need to take every part of your business serious, your branding, your emails, your web address, all those things need to be taken seriously, they need to be a part of what you do. So I would highly recommend getting your name at your business name calm at your domain. And it’s easy to set up a Gmail, you can go our G Suite, rather, you can go to G Suite, sign up, put in your domain, and it’ll it’ll do most of the work for you. It’s very easy.
Keegan 2:32
You know, if you have some things that are set up on your domain, you can you may have to set up MX records to point to Gmail servers. And that’s not hard either there’s Google will walk you through it as they onboard you. And there’s even a way where you can transfer emails from your current setup. If you’re using it on your web server, you can transfer it over. And I can tell you, it’s worth that you get 100 gigs of storage inside of Google Drive, that alone itself is worth six bucks a month. But then you get the professional email, you get access to all the other apps you get the video chat with with Google neat. It’s completely worth it. And it upgrades the way your business is seen.
Keegan 3:09
You know, when you send an email from Kiana Keelin, your media calm, it’s so much better than getting something from Kegel in your media@gmail.com. It just it’s that little bit of detail that makes you seem and come off and be viewed as a professional. And that’s the key to this to this whole episode is professional email for your business. And you need it because you need to be seen as an authority, not somebody who’s just playing around and just kind of doing this for fun. So that’s really the extended this.
Keegan 3:38

Keegan 1:40
And so my question has been, like, why this thing is what everybody looked for everyone wanted for almost a year are a little over a year from its original announcement to the time we actually got it in our hands. And from the minute it came out, I have been all on board, not a single project I’ve done for a client since the release of the theme builder with Divi 4.0. Have I built a site without using the theme builder. I mean, in fact, I’ve gone back and converted many of the other sites that I was not using that on into it. Because from a maintenance standpoint, it’s so much easier, you can build global templates. And you can just make it so that the updates are easy or easier. And saving time is the name of the game here.
Keegan 2:25
You know, if you’re sitting at your desk right now or in your car, and you’re driving thinking like, Man, I need to make more money, I need to either increase the amount of money I make per hour or I need to reduce the amount of time that I spend at work. So I can spend it with my family. Like the theme builder is the answer guys, like the theme builder is it if you’re not using it, you’re spending more time trying to accomplish a great design. Or you’re working too long and not making the hourly rate because you’re spending too much time on a project. Trust me when I tell you, yes, there’s a learning curve. Will you save time, without a doubt.
Keegan 3:05
So I want you to sit back and just close your eyes right now unless you’re driving, don’t close your eyes, obviously, but visualize this. Visualize a 30 hour workweek or a 35 hour workweek, if you if you bill $35 an hour, I mean, I’m sorry, 35 hours per week, at $50 an hour. It’s it’s over $80,000 a year that you take home, right. So if you do that as a freelance solopreneur even at 20% in tax rates, you’re gonna make just shy of 70,000 or and then in the mid mid to upper 60,000 take home. I don’t know about you guys, in the world of like, you know, Zuckerberg and everybody trying to make multi million dollars overnight.
Keegan 3:52
Like, that still sounds amazing to me. Like that’s a great living that supports a family that supports a comfortable lifestyle where you can, you know, save up and do some travels and go out to eat with friends and kind of live a life the way you want within reason. As long as it’s not over the top extravagant. You won’t be buying Lamborghinis, and you won’t be flying private or rented yachts and things like that. But you’ll live a good life. And I don’t know about you guys. But that sounds amazing to me. So, you know all of this ties back to efficiency. And you’re going to hear that tone really started getting woven through the content that we make is how do we get efficient? How do we streamline workflows?
Keegan 4:31
How do we put a process in place to make our business a well oiled machine and make our time valuable so that we don’t have to spend 80 hours a week slaving away and grinding away trying to accomplish what we’re trying to accomplish to have a good life because in the interim, we’re working our life away like we’re trying to work to have a good life, but instead we’re working ourselves to the bone because we don’t turn it off.
Keegan 4:55
So I’m here again to ask you that question. Why would you not not be using the Divi Theme builder. So if that’s you, and you’re not reach out to me, send me a direct message or Facebook messenger or a DM on Twitter, whatever, go to the website, hit the let’s talk link in the bottom left, it’s going to take you right to our Facebook Messenger. And it doesn’t matter if you’re on the phone, or if you’re on the desktop, you can reach us and just ask like say, hey, Tegan. What projects? Have you used the theme builder on? Can you shoot me a link? Of course I will. Oh, absolutely.
Keegan 5:33
Because it’ll be our website. That’s what I use the theme builder on, you can go through different things. And you can see exactly what they are. I’ll send you multiple versions of sites that we use the theme builder on, I’ll tell you how many hours it took to book the site, because we track it all. So I just want I guess I’m trying to be very dramatic and get my point across here and saying like, if you want to gain the life, that you really want the comfortable life that you really want, and you want to work a reasonable number of hours, process and efficiency are everything and the Divi Theme builder is one of those things that’s going to get you there.
Keegan 6:10
So I’m asking you one more time. Why would you not be using the Divi Theme builder, give it a shot, fire up local by fire flywheel, download that program. And if you want to know more about flywheel, I’ll link it up in the show notes like yeah, it’s an affiliate link, I’d appreciate it. I mean, you can click on it, it costs you nothing extra. And a lot of times, there’s actually some trials or some good deep discounts that come along with using that referral link. If you don’t use it, I don’t really care. I want you to get it and I want you to have a great life.
Keegan 6:39
So I’m not it’s not about the Commission’s about the $30 Commission’s I mean, take it or leave it, I’m going to go and work my business and not rely on that. But if you would like to support me, that’d be a great way to do it. without it costing you anything or you know, having to do anything extra. But flywheels local product is unbelievable. Like you can build websites locally, you can fire them up in seconds, you can test it all out. And if you use flywheel as a host trick and help you out with that as well. You can push the sites from local directly into your hosting plan on flywheel. It’s such a great workflow, it’s so easy. And that, again is another one of those things, but try local install Diddy, test out the theme builder, go to my YouTube channel, and watch some of the videos I’m going to put up on here in just a bit.
Keegan 7:25
That’s about using a theme builder to build that blog grid. It’s about how to build a template for your blog posts. And there’s many others I’ve got building global headers, building global footers, just using the theme builder in general, tons of videos for you to watch. So there’s tons of content, there’s a lot of motivation. And I’m going to say it, like, go out there, learn this. And when you’re building websites, look back at the time that you spent, and know that you’ll never have to do it again. Just go out there and make it efficient, blast out amazingly consistent websites that are easier to update and manage global changes.
Keegan 7:59
So that’s really, that’s what I wanted to talk about today, I want to save you time, I want to save you that little bit of headache and be able to get you back into the life that you really really truly are fighting for. That’s what we’re working for here is that is the good life, the travel life, the peaceful life, the life where we write the story. So this is a different tone, you can tell him a little bit fired up. And I’m highly motivated right now. Not that I’m not always but I’m at a different level today. And I hope that this helps you. I hope that this gets you amped up about trying something new and not staying in the same old same just because it worked for you before these times and I don’t talk about Coronavirus COVID-19 Very often, but these times will make you think if you keep doing things the way you’ve done them in the past, you will be left behind, adapt, change, get better, get stronger, get faster, that’s what we do.
Keegan 8:54
That’s what we have to do. And that’s what this will do as far as bringing you to a better life to a quicker development schedule. And for one that you just kind of control Don’t be a victim of the of the schedule anymore. Take control. So I appreciate you all for being here for this eight minute 52nd rant about taking control your life and about using this Divi Theme builder.
Keegan 9:17
I think that the ultimate message here is that it’s possible. You know it’s there for you if you just want to take a little bit of time, learn a new process or a new tool, and I promise that you’re going to really enjoy it and it’s going to change the way you operate.
